The first south-eastern Australia snipe count starts this Saturday 14th November

This Saturday (14/11/2015), teams of volunteers will be out and about their local wetlands in parts of Victoria, Tasmania, ACT, NSW and South Australia to look for snipe. Whilst we haven’t got all potential snipe wetlands covered, we will still get information from a larger area than on any previous count.

As it’s such a dry year, there are far fewer snipe in the wetlands and we are keen to work out where they might be.

So if you have a local wetland or swamp with snipe and you’ve got some free time on Saturday, please have a walk through and see how many you can count there.
